Type 2 Diabetes Food Recipe Plan

We all know that we should eat healthy but sometimes it's harder to do than to say.

A diabetic diet is often associated with bland, tasteless food, and boring recipes but it doesn't have to be that way.

Our Healthy Eating Menu Planners are customized to meet your specific needs.

We have designed a menu planner that is appropriate for people with Type 2 Diabetes and yet, can be enjoyed by your whole family.

A variety of recipes can be prepared and enjoyed yet kept within your prescribed diet (whether by our physician or yours.)

The primary diet problem for a diabetic is of course refined carbohydrates in the form of sugars and grain products, so these do need to be reduced as much as possible, but there are still many recipes available that are healthy and tasty.

You will be amazed on the things that can be included on your restricted intake. From Appetizers & Snacks to Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and even Dessert, all tasty and within your "allowed" calories.

You must first know the basics of a Type 2 Diabetes Healthy Eating Plan - one that helps you reach your goals.

At "My Food with Thought" no two healthy eating plans are the same. However, there are similar basics every diabetic should keep in mind.

WISE CHOICES:

Choose a variety of foods containing carbohydrates and fiber (whole grains, beans, vegetables and fruits).

Eat foods that contain proteins (meat, fish, poultry, tofu, beans, nuts and cheese).

The occassional sweets are okay if kept in moderation and balanced with healthy choices found in other food groups.

Animal fat (saturated) should be LIMITED (margarines and shortenings) but remember some unsaturated fats (oils from vegetables and fish) are healthy.

EAT OFTEN:

Eating three or more small meals a day is better for you than eating one or two larger meals.

Healthy snacks between regular meals may prevent low blood sugar.

You can control your blood sugar by spreading your calorie and carbohydrate intake throughout the day.

So, Welcome back your favorite foods, feeling like your cheating--without cheating at all.
